Building the Next Generation of Leaders for Tibet
Inspiring action, fostering networks, and strengthening communities through non-violence and compassion.
Young people have the power to transform their communities and become agents for change. Guided by the Dalai Lama’s principles of non-violence and compassion, ICT works with both Tibetans and non-Tibetans to inspire action and foster strong networks for justice. We also take part in alliances and coalitions that uphold the same values, ensuring that Tibet remains part of a broader movement for human rights and freedom.
We equip young Tibetan activists through training, mentorship, and resources in non-violent strategy, community organising, and advocacy. By connecting people across borders, cultures, and causes, we provide practical tools that strengthen both individual resilience and community empowerment.
At the heart of our work are values that guide every step:
- Non-violence as both a principle and a strategy
- The recognition that networks sustain long-term change
- A commitment to community building as an ongoing process
- The belief that respect and equality must underpin all action
Our initiatives include:
Tibet Empowerment Days
We provide an extensive advocacy training program for young Tibetans and Tibet supporters on the European Union.
Community Building
We are strengthening Tibetans and building cross-movement coalitions with Uyghur, Mongolian, Hong Konger, and Chinese dissident groups.
Tibetan Sunday School
We support the Tibetan School in Amsterdam, offering free Tibetan language courses for children between the ages of 4 and 18.
Supporting young activists
Through mentorship, guidance and internships we offer expertise and practical experience in advocacy and movement building.
