A Partnership for Human Rights
ICT is a proud member of FIDH, the International Federation for Human Rights — one of the world’s oldest and most respected human rights networks.
Founded in 1922, FIDH brings together 192 member organizations from 116 countries across five continents, working tirelessly to defend all civil, political, economic, social and cultural rights enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Its strength lies in the close connection to grassroots realities through its members, combined with its unique international legal expertise.
ICT joined FIDH in April 2010, at its 37th Congress in Yerevan, Armenia. Since then, we have actively contributed to FIDH’s work, participating in its Congresses (held every 3 years to agree on thematic and geographical priorities and strategies) and taking part in meetings of its Asia leagues.
How we work with FIDH
Through this partnership, FIDH supports ICT by amplifying Tibetan human rights issues within its global networks. Our joint work includes:
- coordinating strategies on shared priorities, discussing common approaches and joint campaigns to strengthen our collective impact.
- co-authoring research and advocacy reports, letters, briefings…
- collaborating on impactful events, including at the European Parliament and the UN in Geneva.
