Preserving Tibetan Language and Culture in the Netherlands
Keeping the Tibetan spirit alive by teaching the next generation.
The Gangjong Rigzod School offers free Tibetan language courses to children between the ages of 4 and 18. Today, around 70 students learn in five different groups, each adapted to their level. Classes take place every Sunday morning for three hours, and an annual final examination helps track progress and celebrate achievements. ICT helps with funding of the school.
The school is run entirely by eight dedicated voluntary teachers, whose selfless effort makes it possible to preserve our language and pass it on to the younger generation in exile. Their work ensures that Tibetan children grow up with a strong connection to their identity, culture, and heritage.
The Gangjong Rigzod School receives no government funding and relies completely on the dedication of its community and supporters.
