Legacy & Planned Giving

Leave a lasting gift for Tibet’s future

Your legacy can help protect Tibetan culture, human rights, and freedom for generations to come.

Have you ever thought about what will happen with your estate? By including the International Campaign for Tibet in your will, you can make a lasting difference for Tibetans, ensuring their voices, culture, and rights are defended far into the future.

Despite our efforts and successes, the situation for Tibetans in Tibet is harder than ever. That makes your support for the preservation of Tibetan culture and human rights even more crucial, now and in the years to come.

Leaving a gift begins with mapping out your estate: money, a house, jewelry, art, or other belongings. If you do not make arrangements, your estate will go by law to your children, partner, or other relatives. But by making a testament with a notary, you decide yourself who benefits, and you can include ICT alongside your legal heirs.

A gift in your will to ICT ensures we can continue to:

  1. Press for a peaceful solution for Tibet through dialogue with the Chinese government
  1. Investigate and expose human rights abuses in Tibet
  1. Support Tibetan language and education projects, and provide help to political prisoners
  1. Preserve Tibet’s unique cultural and religious heritage

Gifts to ICT are exempt from inheritance tax, meaning that your legacy will fully benefit the Tibetan cause.

Ways to leave a gift:

  1. Bequest (legacy): You leave a specific amount or item (money, property, valuables) to ICT Europe.
  1. Inheritance (bequeathing a share): You designate ICT Europe as one of your heirs, giving us a percentage of your total estate.

The Mandala Society

When you include the International Campaign for Tibet in your will, you become a member of the Mandala Society. This refers to a circle of supporters who ensure Tibet’s culture and values live on.

Symbolism of the Mandala

A Tibetan mandala is a sacred circle symbolising compassion and wisdom. Often created as intricate sand art, it represents peace and balance – both for the individual and for the world. Once completed, the mandala is ritually dismantled and the sand returned to a river, symbolising impermanence and the cycle of giving back to nature for the well-being of all life.
