Layers of Self: Identity Collage Workshop

In this hands-on workshop, participants are invited to explore and express their identity through collage. Using colors, textures, and images from magazines and papers, each person can create a self-portrait—not of how they look, but of how they feel, what they carry, and who they wish to become.

Location: NGO DEI | Westeinde 25 The Hague

This session is designed to be intuitive, reflective, and personal. It offers a safe space to engage creatively without the need for drawing skills or prior experience. Participants are encouraged to explore:

•  How they see themselves

•  How they present themselves to the world

•  Aspects of themselves they rarely show

•  Their hopes and desires for the future

By working with tangible materials, this workshop allows participants to externalize thoughts and emotions in a visual form. The final pieces can be kept, shared, or left as part of a collective display, creating a living conversation about identity, vulnerability, and self-expression.

Materials provided: Papers, magazines, colors, textures, scissors, glue
