{"id":4992,"date":"2025-10-21T16:36:33","date_gmt":"2025-10-21T14:36:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/savetibet.nl\/?page_id=4992"},"modified":"2025-10-21T22:55:21","modified_gmt":"2025-10-21T20:55:21","slug":"vision-goals","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/savetibet.nl\/en\/about-us\/how-we-act\/vision-goals\/","title":{"rendered":"Vision &amp; Goals"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\">For Freedom in Tibet<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><em>For more than 30 years, the International Campaign for Tibet has worked for a future where Tibetans can live freely, in dignity and peace.<\/em>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For over three decades, the <strong>International Campaign for Tibet (ICT)<\/strong> has served the vision of <strong>His Holiness the Dalai Lama<\/strong> and the <strong>Tibetan people<\/strong>: a vision rooted in <strong>non-violence, dialogue, and the preservation of Tibet\u2019s rich cultural and spiritual heritage<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As the <strong>largest Tibet support organisation in the world<\/strong>, ICT helps Tibetans in their <strong>peaceful struggle for democracy, human rights, and self-determination<\/strong>. Since 1988, we have worked with <strong>elected leaders, parliaments, and citizens worldwide<\/strong> to turn compassion into action for Tibet.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Through consistent advocacy, ICT has helped shape major political progress, such as including the adoption of the <strong>Tibetan Policy Act<\/strong> and the <strong>Reciprocal Access to Tibet Act<\/strong>. Additionaly, ICT continues to push for policies that protect Tibet\u2019s environment, language, and culture.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Beyond political change, ICT has supported the <strong>release and rehabilitation of Tibetan political prisoners<\/strong>, and helped strengthen communities in exile through programs such as the <strong>Tibetan Youth Leadership Program<\/strong> and the <strong>Rowell Fund for Tibet<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Through our <strong>monitoring and reports<\/strong>, we expose the reality of human rights and environmental issues in Tibet, even as the Chinese government tries to hide them, and reach out to Chinese citizens to <strong>build understanding and trust<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Our Vision<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A Tibet where <strong>human rights, religious freedom, and cultural identity are respected<\/strong>; where Tibetans live <strong>in peace with the environment <\/strong>of the \u201cRoof of the World\u201d; and where <strong>dialogue<\/strong> replaces repression.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Our Goals<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Defend Human Rights and Freedom<\/strong> \u2013 Expose violations, advocate for justice, and support those imprisoned for their beliefs.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Protect Tibet\u2019s Environment and Climate<\/strong> \u2013 Highlight the global importance of Tibet\u2019s water, land, and biodiversity.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Promote Dialogue and Self-Determination<\/strong> \u2013 Encourage peaceful engagement between Tibet and China.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Preserve Culture and Education<\/strong> \u2013 Support initiatives that keep Tibet\u2019s language, religion, and knowledge systems alive.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Empower Tibetans and Allies<\/strong> \u2013 Build leadership and resilience within the Tibetan community and among global supporters.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ICT\u2019s mission continues through its offices in <strong>Washington, DC, Amsterdam, Berlin, and Brussels. <\/strong>All offices are united in their purpose: to ensure Tibet\u2019s story of <strong>freedom, compassion, and resilience<\/strong> remains heard across the world.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">\ud83d\udc49<strong> Join us in building a peaceful and sustainable future for Tibet.
